My Journey to Teaching English
I started teaching English in 2006 as a short-term opportunity in Italy. What began as a temporary position quickly evolved into a lifelong passion when I discovered what truly drives me, that moment when a professional finally breaks through a communication barrier that's been holding them back.
Over 19 years, I've taught thousands of students across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, from university students preparing to study abroad, to business professionals navigating international careers. While I spent several years teaching test preparation and general English, I found my true calling in helping advanced learners refine the subtle aspects of pronunciation and professional communication that forms competent speakers and confident leaders.
I decided to specialize in American pronunciation and business English because I saw a gap, most teachers focus on grammar and vocabulary, but the professionals I work with already have strong fundamentals. What they need is expert guidance on the final 20%, refining the intonation patterns, the subtle sound distinctions and the professional presence that makes them sound polished, not just understandable.
